Final regular season standings: Prairie Pilots (6-0); Dogs (3-2); Millar College of the Bible Edge (2-4); Ruks (0-5).

In the semis, held in Swift Current, the 2nd-seeded Millar College of the Bible Edge dispatched the Saskatchewan Polytech Saskatoon Amaruks 50-45. “Saskatoon and us have always had close games this whole year,” Edge coach Kevin Peters told the Southwest Booster. “For some reason we have their number at the end of games and we find a way to win. The girls just worked hard, were positive, they are wanting to learn. They took care of the ball, which is one thing we really had to do. We didn’t have nearly as many turnovers as we have had in the past, which was really good to see. They were just staying positive even when it was close.”

In the final, the top-seeded Prairie Pilots dumped the Millar College of the Bible Edge 70-36. Edge coach Kevin Peters told the Southwest Booster that experience and depth proved the difference. “They run that full bench with some really tall effective posts. They have girls that just make you pay if you are open. I thought my girls held their own on defense. They kept it within reason until maybe the third quarter there. They just found a way to get around our defense and scored some quick points to pull away with that momentum. … I am really proud of the girls and how hard they worked.”
