Prior to the postseason playoffs, the PWAA stripped the evangelical Columbia Bible College of the right to host the playoffs after an investigation into a 2024 complaint from trans-athlete Harriette Mackenzie of Vancouver Island, who argued that she was verbally and physically mistreated by Bearcat coach Taylor Claggett and players. The Mariners skipped a pair of games in Abbotsford in February, saying they did not feel safe playing at Columbia Bible.
