        In the quarterfinals, the Malaspina Mariners dumped the Camosun Chargers 55-48 as Karen Davies scored 16, while nabbin 14 boards. Katie McLeod added 11 and Marilou Leonin 8. Mariners coach Tom Elwood told the Nanaimo Daily News that “we played incredible defence. We forced 28 turnovers – that’s when you know you’re applying defensive pressure.” The Chargers (coached by Mark Higgins, assisted by Catherine Jensen) included Reanne Levson, Jenna McMath, Donna Lovett, Tricia Booth, Nicki Kantz, Ann Meijer, Chrystal Beegan, Heidi Maida, Kim Oslund, Andrea McLeod and Jeanni Waksel.

        In the other quarterfinal, the Trinity Western Spartans clubbed the Capilano Blues 67-48.

        In the semis, the Douglas Royals stomped the Trinity Western Spartans 58-43.

        In the other semi, the Fraser Valley Cascades whipped the Malaspina Mariners 71-52. The Cascades led 36-24 at the half. Mary Lou Leonin paced the Mariners with 16.

        In the bronze medal match, the Malaspina Mariners dispatched the Trinity Western Spartans 64-56 as Katie McLeod scored 18 and Marilou Leonin 13. Jennifer Kauffeldt led the Spartans with 21. The Spartans (coached by Kendell Kauffeldt, assisted by Bev Kauffeldt and managed by Heidi MacLeod and Marsalie Lowenburger) also included Angela Duerksen, Joanne Kowalenko, Janice Berends, Paula Cairns, Melanie Peninga, Julie Ratzlaff, Alana Aylard, Jordan Brown, Tammy Vanderwal, Lee Morgan, Stephanie Reimer, Heather Seutter and Renee Moes.

        In the final, the Fraser Valley Cascades defeated the Douglas Royals 59-51 as Martha Craig scored 17. The Royals led 25-22 at the half. Royals all-star forward Janice MacKintosh told The Other Press that “we got away from our game. The crowd noise and the fullcourt pressure got to us. We made too many mental errors.” Royals coach Allison Gill said a “10-point swing killed us.” Sheri Zimmerman added that “it’s frustrating to lose when we played so well and I gave it all I had.”
