The Falcons led 32-18 at the half and took command when Mariner Lisa Oakley crashed into the wall and injured her knee. Mariners coach Dave Brown told the Nanaimo Daily News that “the girls fought down to the last second. They did not give up. The shots just didn’t go in for them but they played a helluva game. They really touched me with the way they kept playing.”
In the final, the Thompson Rivers Sun Demons defeated the Langara Falcons 59-46; 51-50 (2g-0).

In game two, the Sun Demons eked out a 52-51 victory as Catherine Stewart hit a pair of free throws in the final seconds. Devanee Peterson paced the Sun Demons with 16. Stewart added 11. Langara was led by Kim Roderique 16 and Leslie Fedorak 12. “We played well in the first game but it got a little rough down in their court (in the second game),” Gold Rush coach Jerry Lee said. “There is more contact down there, making it difficult to play your game.”
