The Coyotes rallied to within one in the final frame but a Davide Ciancio trey rolled off the rim and the Blues were soon able to rebuild a six-point lead and hold on for the win. The score was knotted at 50 after three quarters and at 72 after regulation. The Royals thought they’d won it with a jumper by Courtney Anderson with 1.2 seconds to play in regulation. But an inbounds lob to Tyus Barfoot resulted in a bucket and extra time. The Mariners dominated the extra period with tournament MVP Landon Radliff scoring 7. Radliff was chosen player of the game for the Mariners, while Tyrone Asenoguan earned the laurels for the Royals.
