In the other semi, the 2nd-seeded Langara Falcons clipped the 5th-seeded Cariboo Sun Demons 90-79.

In the bronze medal match, the 6th-seeded Douglas Royals dusted the 5th-seeded Cariboo (Thompson Rivers) Sun Demons 83-65. Andrew Roy paced the Sun Demons with 16. Ryan Kazakoff added 13 and Joel Mueller 13. Nevin Gleddie, who was chosen the loop’s coach of the year, told Kamloops this Week that the players deserved the honour. “I’m a salesman and I’m selling something and it’s up to them (the players) to buy into it.” The Sun Demons (coached by Nevin Gleddie, assisted by Nick Kushniruk, trainer John Starchuk, athletic director Tracey Bilsky) also included Mike Tarry, Sean Kask, Kevin Black, Mark Zaino, Andrew Fisher, Garth Omer, Josh Booy, Steve McQueen, Will Blair, Eric Baker, James Dunnet and Vance Verhoeven.

In the final, 2nd-seeded Langara Falcons thrashed the top-seeded Malaspina Mariners 83-62 as Aaron Mitchell scored 25 and Louis Johnson 25. Falcons coach Kevin Hanson told the Nanaimo Daily News that “in the first half of the season, we couldn’t score inside the key. But with Aaron inside, that gets us some easy looks and frees up some of our three-point shooters, which it did tonight.” The Falcons Brad Berikoff nailed three from beyond the arc in the first half. Hanson said “(Louis Johnson) is so good. I’m going to cry once I lose him. He’s just the reason why we’re here.” Greg Bateson led the Mariners with 17. Deon John added 10. The Mariners shot 17-61 (.280) from the floor and saw post Patrick Lowen sidelined by a knee injury in the first half. Mariners coach Mark Simpson told the Nanaimo Daily News that Lowen’s injury wasn’t the cause of the loss. “That’s nothing to do with Patrick. That’s the way we played. There’s no reason on earth why we can’t guard Mitchell.” Simpson told the Harbour City Star that defensive breakdowns led to the loss. Langara led 42-31 at the half.
