        In the semis, the host Trinity Western Spartans dispatched the Vancouver College (Langara) Falcons 79-73 in overtime as Doug Devries scored 19. Roger Rai led the Falcons with 27.

        In the other semi, the top-seeded Fraser Valley Cascades whipped the 4th-seeded Thompson Rivers (then-Cariboo) Sun Demons 79-66 as Mike Jackson scored 18, Greg Margharitis 15 and Brian Phillip-Stewart 14, while Steve Klassen dished seven assists and Mark Klassen 6 assists. Joe Gobeil led the Sun Demons with 28. Cariboo coach Tim Teer told the Abbotsford News that “when it got down to the crunch, in the final 6 or 7 minutes, they made their shots and we didn’t.”

        In the bronze medal match, the Langara Falcons edged the Thompson Rivers Sun Demons 82-79 as Roger Rai scored 22 and Mike Ponkonjak 16. Peter Jory paced the Sun Demons with 16. Joe Gobeil added 14.

        In the final, the Fraser Valley Cascades defeated the Trinity Western Spartans 78-74 as player of the game Steve Klassen scored 20, Greg Margharitis 13, Phillip Stewart 13 and Kirk Tyfting 9. Cascades coach Tom Antil told the Abbotsford News that “they want to go to nationals. That is what made them come back (for another year). Both our games represented the way we’ve played all season. It was a team effort. Our system worked again.” Doug Devries paced the Spartans with 19. John Devries added 12. The Spartans broke to a 22-11 lead but faltered after John Devries and Paul Chaffee found themselves in foul trouble.
