        In the semis, the New Caledonia Kodiaks dumped the Malaspina Mariners 74-49 as Dean Peters scored 22, Hans Minck 14, Bruce Gale 13, G Pawluk 9, Karl Bush 6, G Gale 5 and R Holley 5. Dan Steffes led the Mariners with 18. Dave Brown added 12, Jim Jordbro 7, Kevin Borserio 4, Mark Dorsay 4, Dirk Rozenboom 2, Mike Davidson 2 and Terry Nohr 2. Mariners coach Murray Hall told the Nanaimo Daily News that “nobody came up big for us. There was no leadership. They shot extremely well and we shot poorly. … Something just happened in the second half. They beat us on the Fastbreak and hustle.”

        In the other semi, the Langara Falcons dispatched the Okanagan College Lakers 64-57.

        In the bronze medal match, the Okanagan Lakers clipped the Malaspina Mariners 71-62. The Mariners led 37-30 at the half. Dan Steffes paced the Mariners with 16. Jim Jordbro added 15. The Mariners (coached by Murray Hall) also included Dave Brown, Mike Davidson, Jamie McKim, Mark Dorway, Kevin Borserio, Terry Nohr, Dirk Rozenboom, Jack Parhar, Dennis Ellickson, Stu Marsden and Wayne Richardson.

        In the final, the New Caledonia Kodiaks (then the Carriers) upset the Langara Falcons 41-39. Carriers coach Phil McLeod told the Prince George Citizen that it was a display of “incredible defensive basketball. Both teams shot under 30% as a result of the defence.” Dean Peters, Karl Bush and Bruce Gale each scored 10 to pace the Carriers.

        After the season, the British Columbia Institute of Technology administration axed funding for athletic programs and folded the Cougars.
