In September 1970, there were 11 members of the Totem Conference: B.C.I.T., Langara, Douglas, Royal Roads, Okanagan, Capilano, Selkirk, Thompson Rivers, New Caledonia, Malaspina and Trinity Western.

In the quarterfinals of a postseason tournament held at Vancouver City College, the Trinity Western Spartans stomped New Caledonia 126-32.

In the semis, the Trinity Western Spartans dumped the Douglas Royals 80-59 as Harve Engebrecht scored 17, Jim Miller 12, Pat Lee 12, Al Thiessen 10, George Bergen 10, Rick Defehr 6, Phil Harder 4, Jim Buhler 3 and Fred Armistead 2. Marinus Horsting led the Royals (then the Ducks) with 14. Howie Mattfield added 14 and Vic Couture 10. The Spartans led 36-24 at the half   

In the final, the Trinity Western Spartans defeated the Langara Falcons 79-71 as Pat Lee scored 16, Harv Engbrecht 16, Jim Buhler 12, George Bergen 7, Phil Harder 5 and Jim Miller 2. Langara was led by Doug Kinnear 26, Bob Phillips 12 and John Rowell 10. The Spartans led 44-34 at the half. They hit 19-23 from the line, while the Falcons were 13-16.
