Shortly before the quarterfinals of the provincial tournament, the Eastern division champion were removed from the tournament with the discovery of an eligibility violation which forced them to forfeit their first nine games. “We are deeply saddened and profoundly disappointed for our team, our student athletes, program staff and supporters,” says athletic director Denita Arthurs. “We regret very much that this has happened, and the substantial impact it will have on our team. We are committed to supporting the team moving forward and complying with the sanctions as defined by the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association.” As a result of the eligibility violation, the Vikings 8-0 record from the fall semester will be removed and all games will appear as losses with a score of 2-0.  With a revised 7-10 season record and the impact of these forfeits on the playoff structure, the OCAA has determined that the team will be removed from the OCAA Provincial Championships.  St. Lawrence College exhausted all avenues available to have the OCAA decision reviewed.
