        In the cross-over quarterfinals, the Seneca Sting defeated the Mohawk Mountaineers 53-45. The Mountaineers included Dawn DeSchryver, Lesley Thomson, Jayme Green, Jaclyn Secore, Julie McClemont, Iuliana Raducanu, Amy kay, Laura Ireland, Nikki Melligan, Denise DeSchryver, Keine Pierre and Laura Proudfoot.

        The Fanshawe Falcons dumped the Humber Hawks 58-50. The Hawks led 32-28 at the half but Fanshawe rallied to knot the score at 37 and took command with an 8-0 run midway through the second half. “I’m proud of them and I told them not to hang their heads,” coach Denise Perrier told The Coven. “I didn’t think that Fanshawe beat us. We beat ourselves. Our

turn-overs in the second half hurt us, and (Fanshawe] went to the foul line plenty more limes than we did. So we hurt ourselves, we turned over the ball, and we couldn’t score.” Emily Wang led the Hawks with 17. Fayloa Craft added 11. Wang said “I felt that we played a pretty decent game. Overall our defence could have been better. We let them have a lot of easy baskets and I think that’s what it really came down to.” The Hawks also included Karine Nicolas, Miranda Pyette, Shenelle Morgan, Julie Yagi, Kamilia Isaac, Tanya Castang, Alecia Reece, Stephanie Boreland, Katie Slater and Natalie Tremblay.

        The St. Clair Saints defeated the Durham Lords 68-53 as Melissa Hewitt scored 14, Tina Sirka 13, Kim Pawluk 13, Colette Carter 11 and Heather Jones 10. “We didn’t want to be in the position of hosting (the final four) and not playing in it,” said Carter. The Saints defence shut down Lords top scorer Bonnie Slaughter in the second half with a box-and-one. She’d scored 16 in the first half but was held to seven in the second. Coach Linda Carriere was pleased with the balance scoring. “It was good to see. A balanced offence like that is hard to stop.” The Lords also included Angela Cull, Liz Armstrong, Deanna Baird, Lindsay Garbatt, Jacqueline Birtwistle, Christina Vittorio, Nicole Stevenson, Fiona Wield, Krista Mustard, Jennifer Payne and Amy Duncan.

        In the last quarterfinal, the Niagara Knights defeated the Loyalist Lancers 68-48. The Lancers included Rachel Gallupe, Danielle North, Lindsay Mordy, Valerie Snider, Allison Lee, Jackie Swartz, Cyndy Campbell, Tabitha Pope, Kim MacMullen, Laura Garskey, Lindsay Briere, Christina Hamilton, Jennifer Comartin, Leanne Mclaughlin, Kirsty MacDonald and Jennifer Hubbard.

        In the semifinals, held at St. Clair College in Windsor, the Fanshawe Falcons defeated the Seneca Sting 59-47 as Judita Jarkovsky scored 13 points, grabbed 11 boards and had 6 steals. Jarkovsky was chosen player of the game for the Falcons, while Kylene Williams earned the laurels for the Sting.

        In the other semi, the Niagara Knights defeated the St. Clair Saints 70-67 in overtime. Shannon Katch was chosen player of the game for the Knights, while Rinjus Chibani earned the laurels for the Saints

        In the bronze medal match, the St. Clair Saints defeated the Seneca Sting 53-51 as Rinjus Chibani scored 19, including eight in the second half. Chibani hit a jumper to give the Saints a 51-38 lead and they held on down the stretch. “We just wanted to play and put the past behind us,” said Chibani. “Any time you play, you want to finish with a win and we did that. Winning a medal helps.” Tina Sirka added 12 for St. Clair while Kim Pawluk tossed in 8. Aisha Croxen-Moncrieffe paced the Sting with 17. Kerri Stevenson added 14. Colette Carter was chosen player of the game for the Saints, while Croxen-Moncrieffe earned the laurels for the Sting. The Sting also included Margaret Masuka, Kerri Stevenson, Bridget Lacko, Miko Whiley, Kylene Williams, Simon McGregor, Stephanie Chau, Cassandra Andrade, Jodi Wilson, Shanda Cooper, Megan Trewartha, Lisa Best, Loren Gun-Munro, Asha Brown, Nickisha Hinds and Edyta Lorek.

        In the final, the Fanshawe Falcons defeated the Niagara Knights 57-45 as Judita Jarkovsky scored 24. Katie Havekes added 16, grabbed 12 boards and had 3 assists. Tasha Dolinski and Shannon Katch each scored 14 to lead Niagara. Katie Havekes was chosen player of the game for the Falcons, while Tasha Dolinski earned the laurels for the Knights.
