Mohawk took an early 21-4 lead but the Wampums rallied with full-court pressure to claim their third title in five years. “It was definitely our toughest test of the year,” said Mohawk centre Wendy Bromfield, who scored 28. Tracy Hund added 12, Sonia Wellington 9, Tracey Hudson 6 and Nancy Pluck 6. Angelita Elliott led Seneca with 19. Nicole Pennie added 17, Hillary Watson 12, Jemma Roach 4 and Angela Hegadorn 3.

Brenda Armstrong paced the Grizzlies with 14. Rosemary Weyer added 12, Julia Neff 6, Lisa Edgar 2, Terry Ledger 2 and Sarah Shortreed 2.

In the other semi, the St. Lawrence-Kingston Vikings defeated the Durham Lords 52-41 as Sue Little scored 17, Alieda Chawrun 12, Sharon Rollich 9, Kelly Little 4, Nancy Darling 4, Tanya Cook 2, Sharni Salter 2 and Shannon Crawford 2.         In the bronze medal match, the Durham Lords defeated the Georgian Grizzlies 64-53 as Nadine Ducharme scored 23, Darlene Gallant 16, Suzanne Lee 9, Pat McNaughton 8, Paula King 6 and Jennifer Petherick 2.         In the final, the Lambton Lions nipped the St. Lawrence-Kingston Vikings 44-43. Lambton led 27-19 at the half before the Vikings rallied to a one-point lead with seven minutes to play. But Lambton held on for the win, notching the winner with five seconds to play. Debra Vanhuizen paced the Lions with 17. Nancy Vanhuizen added 11, Hanneke Roffel 7, Kathy Arcuri 5, Pam Gonzalez 2 and Sue Johns 2. Alieda Chawrun led St. Lawrence with 16.
