In the quarterfinals, the Seneca Sting (then the Wampums) defeated the St. Lawrence-Kingston Vikings 66-57 as Sue Marinucci scored 22. Denise Morey and Glenys Fraser each scored 14 to pace St. Lawrence. The Vikings also included Jana Gibson, Joanie Besselink, Mary O’Neill, Michele Soilker, Norine Milne, Nancy Darling, Susan Whalen, Heather Giles and Diane Johansson.

In the other quarterfinal, the Sheridan Bruins defeated the George Brown Huskies x-x. The Huskies included Kim Robinson, Tracey Mitchell, Lisa Wild, Lynne George, Carm Federico, Gaetana Surdi, Jessica Burke, Lori Lamoureux, Monica Young, Beth Blaser, Ventelyn Gordon and Cheryl Wucher.

In the semis, the Fanshawe Falcons clipped the Seneca Sting 48-39.

In the other semi, the Mohawk Mountaineers dumped the Sheridan Bruins 68-43.

        In the bronze medal match, the Seneca Sting edged the Sheridan Bruins 61-58. The Bruins included Sandra Hamilton, Melissa Rasmussen, Lisa Legault, Yolande Byam, Colette Perras, Alison Rasmussen, Lisa Cadrin, Kim Hamilton, Denice Cummings, Wendy Schneider, Stacey Veer, Janette Paris, Janet Beatty, Jo-Anna Tilstra, Tracey VanBruchem, Laura Vance and Carolyn Green.

        In the final, the Fanshawe Falcons defeated the Mohawk Mountaineers 56-53 as Liz Murphy scored 22. Joanne Laforest led the Mountaineers with 15.

        In the semis, the Durham Lords dumped the Georgian Grizzlies 63-49 as Carrie Skribe scored 21, Julie Hornsby 19, Kelly Smith 12, Terri-Lee Sanford 4, Kym O’Hara 4 and Lesley Weller 3. Helen Helin paced the Grizzlies with 19, Michelle Hodgins added 7, Dawn Bell 4, Debbie Perry 5, Lisa Bertram 4, Wendy Drapala 4, Gwen Berwick 3 and Heather Widdis 2.

        In the other semi, the Humber Hawks whipped the Conestoga Condors 72-43 as Joan Chambers scored 13, Carolyn Baine 13, Chris Stephenson 12, Elaine Gordon 10, Mary Storey 8, Joy Raymond 6, Heather Shiells 5, Lucien Simon 3 and Davine Burton 2. Terri Murray led the Condors with 9. Sharron Kiely added 8, Susan Coveney 8, Karen Auld 8, Holly Matthews 4, Joy MacDonald 2 and Melinda Cromwell 2. Condors coach Bob Scott told The Spoke that “Humber has a good team. They were ready to play and had a good press, which we weren’t capable of handling.” Humber led 36-19 at the half. The Spoke reported that Sharron Keily was chosen to the all-tournament team.

        In the bronze medal match, the Georgian Grizzlies clocked the Conestoga Condors 59-42 as Dawn Bell scored 20, Helen Helin 16, Gwen Berwick 8, Michelle Hodgins 7, Debbie Perry 4 and Lisa Bertram 4. Karen Auld paced the Condors with 13. Terri Murray added 12, Susan Coveney 7, Leigha Carthy 4, Melinda Cromwell 4 and Sharon Kiely 4. The Condors also included Tricia Green, Joy MacDonald, Holly Matthews and Kathy Walker.

        In the final, the Humber Hawks defeated the Durham Lords 59-57 as Joan Chambers scored 19, Davine Burton 16, Joy Raymond 8, Carolyn Baine 6, Chris Stephenson 5, Ruth Stuart 2, Mary Storey 2 and Heather Shiells 1.
