        Midway through the season, the OCAA suspended the Algonquin Thunder. They’d failed to field a team at two regular season games (against George Brown and Mohawk). Due to injury and illness Algonquin did not have enough players to field a team and didn’t make the trip. The OCAA suspended the team for the remainder of 1986-87 and further disciplinary measures are expected. Algonquin was 0-8 in regular season play with five games remaining on their regular season schedule. They did not return to the league until 2002.

In the semis, the Centennial Colts edged the St. Clair Saints 46-43 as Sonia Lamey scored 14, Karla Rice 8, Hughdel Stewart 8, Jennifer Gregoire 6, Stephanie Roth 4, Christine Marshall 4 and Karen Dunstan 2. Marisa Vidale led the Saints with 11. Joanne Johnston added 10, Stephanie Goslin 10, Jodie Christian 10 and Leanne Lynch 2.

In the other semi, the Mohawk Mountaineers defeated the Seneca Sting 78-42 as Claudia DeIulio scored 17, Marcine Blake 12, Anna Gark 8, Lesley Anne Grill 6, Joanne Laforest 5, Mary Pellegrino 5 and Tracey Hudson 3. Diane Tedesco paced the Sting with 13. Sarnelle Gray added 8, Sue Marinucci 8, Maxine Brown 4, Angela George 2, Shirlene Johnston 1 and Wanda Mori 1.

        In the bronze medal match, the Seneca Sting dusted the St. Clair Saints 64-49 as Diane Tedesco scored 22, Sue Marinucci 18, Angela George 8, Shirlene Johnston 6, Wanda Smith 4, Sornelle Gray 4 and Maxine Brown 2. Joanne Johnston paced the Saints with 16. Jodie Christian added 12, Leanne Lynch 8, Marisa Vidale 6, Stephanie Goslin 6 and Laurie St. Pierre 1. The Saints also included Della Latella, Leanne Lynch, N Maisonneuve, Laurie St. Pierre, Doreen Dyck, Laura Jackson, Penny Jenkins and Sue Zaharak.

        In the final, the Mohawks Mountaineers whipped the Centennial Colts 78-42 as Marcine Blake scored 24, Michelle Osenenko 16, Claudia DiIulio 13, Joanne Laforest 11, Anna Gark 6, Mary Pellegrino 4, Sheelah Koch 2 and Tracey Hudson 2. Hughdel Stewart paced the Colts with 15. Karla Rice added 10, Stephanie Roth 7, Sonia Lamey 5, Cheryl Hines 3 and Jennifer Gregoire 2.

        In the bronze medal match, the Georgian Grizzlies defeated the Canadore Panthers 60-56. The Panthers included Diane Bourque, Tracy McLean, Cathy Mason, Nancy Rheault, Sherry Knight, Julie Bryant, Chantal Leveille, Danielle Schoneveld, Rhonda Birtch, Darla Depatie and Donna Dell’Elce.

        In the final, the St. Lawrence-Kingston Vikings defeated the Durham Lords 90-61.
