When shots won’t fall, it’s very deflating. We shot it well, so the situation snowballed. We were fortunate tonight, but fortune often smiles on effort, and our effort was top shelf.”

The Bruins led 61-54 after three quarters. The Bruins took command with a 12-1 run to close out the third quarter. “As much as any team we’ve ever had, these guys really took the bull by the horns. In the last four weeks we’ve had some ups and downs but these guys took the leadership mantel upon themselves and that’s what you really need, I believe,” Bruins coach Jim Flack said. “You’ve gotta have a team that could go out there almost without a coach and play. All we have to do then is make substitutions and tactical adjustments and then it’s up to them to make the right decisions.         After the season, Jason Dawkins is appointed coach at George Brown, replacing Peter Sambu (retired? Unrenewed?). A Huskies alum and graduate of Brandon (2004) with a batchelor of education, he was an assistant at the FIBA U16 Americas tournament in June, 2019, and coach of the Ontario provincial team between 2010-17, winning a gold medal at the Canada Summer Games in 2017. He was also an assistant at Ryerson between 2009-12. “Jason Dawkins is a seasoned veteran in the basketball coaching community and we’re thrilled to have him make his way back to the Huskies. The championship-level experience he’s had will be invaluable to a program that’s striving to get back to that National stage again”, said Manager of Athletics Melanie Gerin-Lajoie.
