In the North playoffs (best of three), the Cambrian-Sudbury Colts dispatched the Rouyn-Northwestern Les Gaillards 64-41; 51-45 (2g-0). In the West division final, the Mohawk Mountaineers defeated the St. Clair Saints 114-93. Saints coach Al Hoffman told the Windsor Star that “we couldn’t handle their pressure defence. I also can’t remember seeing a college team shooting as well as they did (.620) in the first half. That’s when the game was decided, in the last five minutes of the first half, when they scored 12 points. That gave Mohawk a 64-42 lead.” Jim Stephenson and Mike Sharpe led the Mountaineers attack. Mike Roos led the Saints with 28, along with 13 boards. Henry Koscielski added 26. The Saints outrebounded Mohawks 42-32. The Saints also included Duane Newby, Doug Towers, Greg Marchant, Wayne Loiselle, Silvio Corrente, Brent Robinson, Terry Firr, Ron Miles, Ken Geitz, Dan Derenowski, Rick Stewart, Don Browne and Joe Donlon.
