Final regular season standings (4): Canadian Mennonite (10-2); Red River (10-2); Providence College (4-8); College universitaire de Saint-Boniface (0-12)

In the semis, the 2nd-seeded Red River Rebels defeated the 3rd-seeded Providence College Freeman 69-59. Josh Stolar was chosen player of the game for the Rebels, while Cam Friesen earned the laurels for the Freemen.

In the final, the 2nd-seeded Red River Rebels edged the top-seeded Canadian Mennonite Blazers 70-65. Without the services of 2010 Regular Season Most Valuable Player Josh Olaes due to family commitments, the Rebels entered Saturday’s final against their rivals as decided underdogs. “When important guys are missing from your lineup, it becomes an opportunity for someone else to step up”, said Rebels Head Coach Sukh Singh, and third-year forward Josh Stolar did just that. The Stonewall, MB native was an absolute monster on the glass, racking up 9 rebounds to compliment his 21 points. He also hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer on a broken play to end the first half. Shooting guard Brad Naron drilled an off-balance buzzer-beating three at the end of the third. Neither team led by more than seven points at any time during the game, and it was only in the final five minutes that the Rebels took control. Player of the game Josh Stolar told the Stonewall Argus & Teulon Tribune that “I was just glad that we as a team had won the championship, that was the bigger and better feeling. The MVP was a great feeling too, but it was more or less just icing on the cake after that. … It was a really close throughout the whole game. They’re a very good team too. … It easily could have gone either way. … I’ve put a lot of hard work in over my three years at Red River, so it feels like a well-deserved reward. I’m done with Red River now, so picking up the championship MVP was definitely a nice send off.” Paul Muns was chosen player of the game for the Blazers after scoring 18.
