Sheridan Bruins guard Nick Campbell was named player of the year. “Nick has been a dominate force for the Bruins over the four years he has played there,” said CCAA men’s basketball convenor Jonathan Lambert. “He is now considered by Sheridan as one of the all-time starting five for that program.” Campbell was a member of the Bruins when they captured CCAA silver medals in 2017 and 2019 and closed out his career as the Bruins all-time leading scorer. He finished second in the OCAA in scoring with 24.6 ppg, while notching 124 rebounds (6.2 rpg), 48 assists and 41 steals. Campbell led the Bruins to a 13-7 record and tie for fourth place in the OCAA West Division and was named the league’s west division player of the year. “After averaging almost 25 points per game and leading the team in charges against this season, he is known by his teammates and coaching staff as a player who sacrifices himself for the betterment of his team,” said Lambert. The other nominees for the award were Courtney Anderson of the Douglas Royals (PacWest); Brock Dewsbery of the Lethbridge Kodiaks (ACAC); Sébastien Lamaute of the Dynamiques de Brébeuf (RSEQ); and Jordan Holness of the Holland Hurricanes (ACAA).

        Douglas Royals coach Joe Enevoldson was named coach of the year. Enevoldson led the Royals to a 17-1 PACWEST regular season title and their postseason crown in three years. “Joe is the consummate professional and asset to the Athletics and Douglas College community,” said Douglas athletic director Brian McLennon. “He is involved in various College and Athletics initiatives that contribute the student-athletes’ experience and well-being.” Enevoldson is the Manager of Boys High Performance and a Technical Director at Basketball BC, where he also works with the U17 provincial team. “Enevoldson has seen much success since being named head coach at Douglas College,” said CCAA men’s basketball convenor Jonathan Lambert. “He has used a well-developed mixture of domestic and international talent to become one of the premier programs in the CCAA.” Other nominees for the award were Ryan Heggie of the Lethbridge Kodiaks (ACAC); Jamie Girolametto of the Redeemer Royals (OCAA); Michael Chmielewski of the Dynamiques de Brébeuf (RSEQ); and Steve Chapman of the Mount Allison Mounties (ACAA).

Anderson was named the PACWEST player of the year after leading the Royals to a first-place finish in the conference with a 17-1 record. The fourth-year guard averaged 18.9 ppg and 4.0 apg. …………………………………………………… Tyus Barfoot (Vancouver Island). Barfoot was named the PACWEST Defensive Player of the Year after leading the defending CCAA Champion Mariners to a 16-2 record and second-place finish in the regular season. The fourth-year forward led the PacWest with 10.8 rpg and scored 16 ppg. …………………………………………………… Brock Dewsbery (Lethbridge). Dewsbery was named the ACAC player of the year after leading the Kodiaks to a 20-1 record and first-place finish in the ACAC South Division. The rookie forward averaged 21.3 ppg (425 points), 7.4 rpg and 4.2 apg, while shooting .495 from the floor, .468 from the arc and .809 from the line. “His biggest attribute is his competitiveness and passion for the game,” said coach Ryan Heggie. “Despite leading our team in stats he wants to get better. He is always willing to admit when he could’ve done better and takes responsibility for his actions. What else do you want in a leader and Brock is stepping into that role as a first-year student-athlete!  … As a first-year player, from day one Brock was determined to make an impact. He has accomplished this by showing up daily and competing hard. He has really embraced his rookie year with enthusiasm, passion and respect for what is known as “the process” in the Kodiaks house!” …………………………………………………… Sean-Michael Clancey (NAIT). Clancey led the ACAC in scoring with 26.6 ppg, while notching 9.5 rpg, 4 apg, and 61 steals. The third-year guard led NAIT to a third-place finish in the ACAC North Division with a 14-10 record. …………………………………………………… Dakoda Lewis (Seneca). Lewis averaged 21.8 ppg, while nabbing 129 boards and shooting a league-leading 80-192 (.417) from the arc. The second-year guard led the Sting to a 17-3 record and a tie atop the OCAA East division standings. He was named the East division’s player of the year. …………………………………………………… Sebastien Lamaute (Jean-de-Brebeuf). Lamaute was named the RSEQ player of the year after leading the Dynamiques to a second-place finish with a 15-3 record. Lamaute, a guard, averaged 17.3 ppg and 7.3 rpg. …………………………………………………… Karim Mane (Vanier). The two-time CCAA All-Canadian led the Cheetahs to a 16-2 record and first-place finish in the RSEQ. The third-year guard led the conference with 5.4 apg, while notching 15.9 ppg and 7.9 rpg. …………………………………………………… Jordan Holness (Holland). Holness was named both the ACAA player of the year and defensive player of the year after leading the Hurricanes to a 15-3 record and the conference’s regular season title. The second-year guard led the conference in scoring with 20.3 ppg and 3 spg. …………………………………………………… Geoffrey Lavoie (St. Thomas). Lavoie led the Tommies to a 12-6 record and tie for third place in the conference. The second-year forward averaged 16.8 ppg and 6 rpg, while shooting .417 from the arc and notching 46 assists and 27 steals.
