Lakeland guard Tori Dugan was chosen the CCAA player of the year. The 5-5 fifth-year guard and arts major from Perth, Australia, led the Rustlers to an undefeated 16-0 regular season ACAC title and the postseason conference tournament crown. She was the ACAC player of the year. Rustlers coach Chris King said “Tori has developed into the undisputed leader of our team and mentor for the younger Rustlers. In regular season ACAC play (16 games), Dugan hit 81-197 (.411) from the floor, 35-81 (.432) from the arc and 25-34 g(.735) from the line, while garnering 62 boards, including 7 on the offensive glass and a 3.9 rpg, 32 fouls, a league-leading 92 assists, 34 turnovers, 4 blocks, 35 steals and 222 points, for a 13.9 ppg. CCAA women’s basketball convenor Mai Nguyen said “through her outstanding leadership skills and her terrific vision on the court, Tori helped lead Lakeland to an undefeated season.”

        Lakeland’s Chris King was named CCAA coach of the year. King guided the Rustlers to a 16-0 ACAC north division regular season title and the conference postseason tournament crown in his 14th-year at the helm. Lakeland athletic director Alan Rogan said “Chris has worked extremely hard over the last number of years to not only build a team, but a women’s basketball program. He is passionate about the sport and invests a significant amount of time into the program and all the student-athletes who are a part of it.” CCAA women’s basketball convenor Mai Nguyen said “Chris has been a great mentor to the young women at Lakeland College, using basketball to prepare these student-athletes on how to win in life.” Other nominees for the CCAA coaching award were Andrew Gini of Okanagan (Pacific Western), Christopher Rao of Niagara (OCAA), George Germanos of Champlain Saint-Lambert (RSEQ), and Mark Forward of Mount St. Vincent (ACAA).
