Kim Lee from SAIT Polytechnic is the winner of the player of the year award. Lee, a fifth-year guard and the driving force on the Trojan team has dominated the ACAC with stellar offence and defensive skills. She was on the ACAC South Division leader board in nearly every major category. Lee led the South, and the ACAC, in points per game with 20.37 and placed first in her division for field-goal percentage, 52.6 and steals, 4.00, per game often defending the opponents’ best player. She also placed third in the South for assists per contest at 4.05. Kim’s accomplishments, which include guiding the Trojans to an ACAC title, have earned her recognition such as being named to the ACAC South Division All-Conference first team, named an ACAC Athlete of the Week and CCAA Athlete of the Month.

        Trevor Williams, from Dawson College, as chosen national coach of the year after guiding the Blues to the FQSE crown and posting a season record of 17-3. Though their season record stayed the same as the previous year, the team as a whole improved. Areas of improvement included strengthening the Blues defensive side of the game. A level three certified coach, for the last fifteen years, Williams has run the “Trevor Williams Basketball Academy – Summer Camp”, for eight weeks during the summer. He is also involved with the Bluehounds Basketball summer traveling team and a lunchtime and afterschool basketball program with local elementary schools.

        Joining Lee on the All-Canadian team were: Jordan Anstice (Concordia University College) …………………………………………………… Katherine Brien (Mount Saint Vincent) …………………………………………………… Hali Burns (Sheridan). The fifth-year guard has capitalized on a stellar final season and has been named the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Player of the Year. Burns led her Sheridan Bruins team to an undefeated season in the OCAA going an impressive 14-0 in regular season action. The Sarnia native averaged 12 points per game and was named a First Team All-star. She is known as a tireless worker who is always working on finding ways to improve her game. This is Hali’s second OCAA Player of the Year nod. …………………………………………………… Emilie Cloutier (Sainte-Foy) …………………………………………………… Jessica Franz (Capilano) …………………………………………………… Christine Kennedy (Northern British Columbia) …………………………………………………… Shannon Matheson (George Brown) Matheson was a First Team OCAA all-star. Matheson finished second on her team in scoring, averaging 16.7 points per game and was known for her quick hands, amassing 76 steals in 15 games.
