They started to hit shots and we just didn’t defend to the level needed and they inched back into the game and we were only up by four going into the 4th quarter. In the 4th it went back and forth for the entire 10 minutes. In the closing minutes STU were up two 67-65 and we got next four points to go up 69-67 but they answered right away on a tough layup. In the final 15 seconds, we picked up a very cheap backcourt foul which sent them to the line with 13 seconds to go. Their shooter is usually automatic on the line but missed both shots. However, on the rebound STU got to the ball and in the scramble kicked the ball to weakside and they hit a wide open three with six seconds to go.  We called a timeout and, on the ensuing play, we heaved a desperation three pointer that missed and the game was over.  We were all in utter shock on what just happened. We just couldn’t close the deal in the second half.” Hilary Goodine paced the Tommies with 20 on 7-21 from the floor, 1-1 from the arc, 5-5 from the line, 6 boards and 2 assists.
