We knew that if we played well, we would be fine.” They kept their focus, he added. “The team has a real sense of business, and they’re very keen to get better. It’s an incredibly unselfish group and I’m very proud of each and every one of them.” Heather Atherton said “it means so much to me to bring home another banner. We work so hard during the year and it feels great knowing all the hard work has paid off. We have a great group of girls that are headed by two amazing coaches and as long as we continue to stick together, I know we’ll be able to represent STU well at nationals.” Mystics coach Mark Forward said “we gave everything we had. We’re a young team, we made some young mistakes, and we’ll take what we learned from that experience to the national tournament, fix a few things and make a run for the gold medal.” Chelsea McKay led the Mystics with 12.
