In the final, the N.S.A.C. Rams defeated the Mount Allison Mounties 64-49. The Rams led 34-18 at the half and romped. Keeli Smith led NSAC with 16. Theresa Gough added 13, player of the game Velma Cann 11 and Tanya Becker 10. Jaclyn Howat led Mount Allison with 15. Tricia Thibodeau added 12. “We got a little roll,” said coach Jennifer Lloyd. “They put a press on us and for a couple of possessions, it gave us a problem. Then, we decided to look up the floor and we got four or five easy layups and that kind of turned the game.” Mount Allison coach Dave Wheaton was also assessed a technical, which yielded a four-point swing for NSAC. Lloyd, who’d joined NSAC after Nova Scotia Teachers College declared itself a community college and became ineligible for nationals, noted that the back-to-back personal titles were similar. “It was a lot of the same feelings. We worked really hard, ran a lot of the same set plays. It was nice. The girls really came a long way this year.”
