The Hurricanes led 20-17, 37-36 and 65-49 at the quarters.  “It’s great when you can come out of a weekend like this, having faced some adversity and knowing, that when push comes to shove, you can make the plays you need to make to win a championship,” Hurricanes coach Josh Whitty said, adding that a stiffer defence in the third quarter led to a number of runouts. “You expect good teams to make runs in the second half. They made a run, we withstood it, we made plays we needed to make and came out on the right side.” Whitty said the pressure to win it all again helped his troops. “Pressure is good. Without pressure there wouldn’t be diamonds. … Adversity can cause some to break and others to break records.
