In the semis, the St. Thomas Tommies nipped the UNB-St. John Seawolves 74-72 as Matt Bonnar scored 17 and was chosen Tommies player of the game. David Robson added 14, Barry Brennan 13, Spencer Jeffrey 8 and Steve Smith 6. UNBSJ led STU 35-31 at the half before yielding to a clutch comeback. Shaun Lingley had nailed a pair of treys and Matt James a pair of treys, as the Seawolves built a 66-55 lead with 12 minutes remaining. But Tommies guard Matt Bonnar nailed three treys in a 17-6 run as St. Thomas roared back. “They switched to an aggressive full-court zone trap, which created three important turnovers,” said UNBSJ coach Clayton Mitchell told the New Brunswick Telegraph Journal. “We did what we wanted to. We eliminated their fast break game and played the game at our tempo.” With the score knotted at 72 and 13 seconds on the clock, Bonnar drove the lane and executed a difficult, floating lay-in for the winner. The Seawolves got the ball to a heavily guarded Sean Breen, whose tying bid bounced off the front of the rim. Breen scored 22 and was chosen the player of the game for the Seawolves. Matt James, playing with a knee injury and a sprained ankle, scored 8 for the Seawolves, as did Ken Stackhouse and Sam Assembe. Shaun Lingley added 5, Kent MacFarlane 3, Neal Fowler 2, Jamie Crossman 2 and Richard Smith 2. “I was proud of how the guys played on offence,” said Mitchell. “It was the best shooting game we’ve had all season. We hit 10 three-pointers. There was one word to sum the game up: pride.”

In the other semi, the Mount Allison Mounties dumped the Mount St. Vincent Mystics 66-58 as Mike McLeod scored 22, Shaun Alie 16 and Brendan Mulcahy 11. Alan Williams led the Mystics with 21. Jayson Taker added 17 and Ian MacRae 11. The Mounties led 34-27 at the half.

In the final, the St. Thomas Tommies defeated the Mount Allison Mounties 76-59 as Mike Bonnar scored 18, Spencer Jeffrey 17, Barry Brennan 15, player of the game David Robson 11 and Andrew Robson 6.
