       In regular season play: the UNB Jaycees clinched the title by thumping Moncton 70-42 in their last game as Ken Pike scored 17. Bob Leblanc led Moncton with 18.

       In the semis, the St. Thomas Tommies edged New Brunswick Teachers College 82-80 as White scored 42, Cholody 17, Witlib 9, Humes 4, Wilkins 4, Pierce 3 and Ross 3. Reed led Teachers with 20. Gould added 18, Dickinon 18, Greenlaw 17 and Hansen 7.

       In the other semi, the UNB-Saint John Red Barons clipped Prince of Wales 77-64 as Brian White scored 21, Burley 13, Bill Flemming 11, Anderson 9, Rice 7, Estey 6, Bawn 4 and Laking 2. Ron White led Prince of Wales with 21. John Keavany added 16, Ron Diamond (Desmond?) 15, Taylor 8, Coulson 4, while Ladner, Ghiz, Quinn, Fortier and McLean were scoreless.

       In the bronze medal match, New Brunswick Teachers spanked Prince of Wales 74-57 as Dwight Dickinson scored 17. Len Reed led Prince of Wales with 17.

       In the final, UNB-Saint John, led by guard Brian White’s 40 points, captured the title by defeating the St. Thomas Tommies 73-71. White scored the winning bucket with 53 seconds to play. The Tommies held the ball for a final shot in hopes of forcing overtime but misfired with nine seconds on the clock.
