        In the final, the NAIT Ooks edged the Medicine Hat Rattlers 71-69. “We played defence and we got some stops and got out and run,” said Ooks coach Mike Connolly. “You have to be mentally tough and play resilient defence and play as a team. It was a good season and we have a good group of guys and they seized the opportunity.” Asked if 6-1 rookie Bahamas guard Jacob Jackson was key to the team’s fortunes, Connolly said “he means the same as anyone else on the team. No one is better than anyone else as everyone is created equal. It is a team effort.” The Ooks trailed 51-37 halfway through the third period only to tie the game at 55-55 at the end of the period. Rattlers coach Rich Humphries said foul trouble hurt his team. “We got into some severe foul trouble and NAIT capitalized on our smaller lineup and started to post up on our guards.” The Rattlers missed 7-8 free throws in the final two minutes of play. The Rattlers led 18-17 after one quarter and 37-29 at the half. Jackson Jacob paced the Ooks with 36 on 15-25 from the floor, 0-1 from the arc, 6-8 from the line, 4 boards and 5 assists.
