        In the semis, the Mount Royal Cougars thrashed the Medicine Hat Antelope 73-55. Peter Letham and Ron Olynyk each scored 15 to pace the Cougars. Lloyd Scherer paced the Antelope with 26. Larry Baker added 13. “The boys gave it everything they had out there tonight but the Cougars proved to be just too tough,” said Antelope coach Arnie Frank.

        In the other semi, the SAIT Trojans defeated the NAIT Ooks 64-60 as Ron Feist scored 16. Bob Butlin led the Ooks with 20. The Ooks led 31-26 at the half but the Trojans opened the second frame with a 15-0 run.

        In the bronze medal match, the Medicine Hat Antelopes pounded the NAIT Ooks 63-61. With sevend seconds to play, Antelope Lloyd Scherer heaved up a 25-foot shot that was partially blocked but hit the backboard and then the front of the rim and rattled in.

        In the final, the SAIT Trojans defeated the Mount Royal Cougars 73-71 as Blake Semcow scored 18. Tournament MVP Ron Feist added 17. Phil Letham led the Cougars with 20.

        In a challenge match, to determine the conference’s representative at the Four-West tournament, the Lethbridge Community College Kodiaks defeated the SAIT Trojans 119-100 after leading 58-51 at the half. Kodiaks coach Tom Karren was his troops controlled the boards in the second half. Alec Dudas paced the Kodiaks with 28. Gary Williams added 19 and Curt Wolsey 18. Williams and Bruce Millis each nabbed 9 boards. Ron Feist paced the Trojans with 29. Helmut Schempp added 16.

        After the season, Lethbridge Community College joined the ACAC.
