In the bronze medal match, the 3rd-seeded Sherwood Park Strathcona Christian Eagles defeated the 4th-seeded Calgary Christian Cougars 62-53. “We played really well,” Eagles coach Vince Reynolds told the Sherwood Park-Strathcona County News. “They were a tough team and our guys really battled hard to come out with the win. It was probably one of our better defensive games. It is really easy to give up when you don’t get to your end goal and play for gold. You couldn’t tell what medal they were playing for. Regardless of the game, you have to give it your all for the whole 40 minutes and they did that. One of our grade 10s, Tre Ross, was our leading scorer for the game and Michael Murphy, who was our leader all year, had an excellent game to finish things off by shutting down one of their better players. It was really a team win.” Tre Ross, Michael Murphy and Bankole Adele each scored 12 to pace the Eagles.
