The teams traded the lead down the stretch before Grand Trunk pulled off the upset. The six-member Vikings (coached by Andrew Fast, assisted by Todd Ojala) also included Austin Ojala, Joe Chege, Andrew Geerligs, Shem Chege and Cal Unruh. “I was so disappointed with how the game played out. We had a shot at it. I don’t blame the refs for the loss, there were things we did like miss some lay-ups, miss some free throws and we weren’t able to get the ball inside effectively,” Fast told the Vauxhall Advance. “But it was 22 to 11 fouls. We had eight fouls to give where everyone would have fouled out. There were times where Alex or Andrew would get hit in the paint and there was no call and then coming back, they’d make a call on a reach in and boom, Alex has three fouls.” The Vikings were left with four players on the court midway through the final quarter because of foul trouble. They had a chance to tie it, trailing by two with 15 seconds to play.
