In the semis, the 2nd-seeded Mount Saint Vincent Mystics defeated the 3rd-seeded Mount Allison Mounties 48-45 as Kim Fralick scored 14.
In the other semi, the top-seeded St. Thomas Tommies defeated the 4th-seeded King’s College Blue Devils 49-44 as Jennifer Savage scored 13.
In the final, the Mount Saint Vincent Mystics stunned the top-seeded St. Thomas Tommies 56-48 as Amanda Irving and rookie Wendy Mills each scored 17. Jen Kinsella added 10 and Kim Fralick 7.
After the season, Jon Kreiner resigns at St. Thomas to assume the helm at Lakehead. Kreiner is replaced by assistant Fred Connors. “This job is a dream come true for me,” Connors told the Cape Breton Post. “It’s at a university I love. I’m very proud that I’m a former Tommie. My dream was to be a head coach of a university program and now it’s all come together.”
