       In the Montreal area semis, the Dawson Blues clubbed St. Laurent 74-59 as John Reggler scored 20. Rene St. Fort led St. Laurent with 30.

       In the other semi, the Vanier Cheetahs dispatched the John Abbott Islanders 88-81 as Rick Hunger scored 20. Bill Saben led the Islanders with 27. Prior to the semi, Vanier was initially disqualified for playing Ed Hercum, who’d only toiled in the six of the required eight games. The League announced that Vanier was disqualified for using an ineligible player. But John Abbott coach Mike Dawson said his players voted to replay the Cheetahs at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. Cheetah guard Rick Hunger noted that the Islanders “have a lot of class.”

       In the Montreal area final, the Vanier Cheetahs defeated the Dawson Blues 75-64 after leading 38-31 at the half. Rick Hunger paced the Cheetahs with 29.

       In the provincial semis, the Dawson Blues defeated Champlain 124-89.

       In the other semi, the Vanier Cheetahs dispatched the Seminar du Quebec x-x.

       In the provincial final, the Dawson Blues nipped the Vanier Cheetahs 62-61 as Trevor Bennett scored 22. Rick Hunger led the Cheetahs with 21.
