       In the South division semi, the Sheridan Bruins dumped the Seneca Braves 88-74 as Gord McNeice scored 25, including 17 in the first half. Ron Southwick added 21, Gary Brooks 18 and Mick Maandag 11. Raffi Der Boghossian paced Seneca with 24. John Melchiori added 18. The Braves also included Leonard Noel, Matt Wukasch, Wally Blasko, Rory Brush, Rick Lostracco, Jim Reid, Nino Paolucci, Craig Purdie, Kurt Burstahler and Fred Koreman. …………………………………………………… In the finals, the George Brown Huskies dumped the Sheridan Bruins 101-74; 90-59 (2g-0). In game one, Rick Chase scored 20, Curtis Tillman 19 and Gary McKeigan 16 to lead the Huskies. Nick Maandag had 22 for the Bruins.        In the North playoffs (best of three), the Cambrian-Sudbury Colts dispatched the Rouyn-Northwestern Les Gaillards 64-41; 51-45 (2g-0). Les Gaillards included Serge Baribeau, Yves Pichette, Jean Lapierre, Real Tousignant, Denis Legault, Georges Bordeleau, Julien Doyon, Michel Landry, Louis Bordeleau, Steve Pratte and Sylvain Simard.

       In the West division final, the Mohawk Mountaineers defeated the St. Clair Saints 114-93 as Mike Sharp scored 26, Jim Stephenson 26, Bob Bricker 17, Laurie Cahill 15 and Bruce Webb 12. Mountaineers coach Wes Hicks told the Hamilton Spectator that “our defence was great. That’s probably the best offensive game we’ve ever had. We passed the ball as few times as possible on our fastbreak. At times, we brought the ball up the floor with three passes. Saints coach Al Hoffman said “we only played eight men while they can play their whole team. Their fastbreak certainly hurt us and their press really affected our style of play.” Hoffman told the Windsor Star that “we couldn’t handle their pressure defence. I also can’t remember seeing a college team shooting as well as they did (.620) in the first half. That’s when the game was decided, in the last five minutes of the first half, when they scored 12 points. That gave Mohawk a 64-42 lead.” Jim Stephenson and Mike Sharpe led the Mountaineers attack. Mike Roos led the Saints with 28, along with 13 boards. Henry Koscielski added 26. The Saints outrebounded Mohawks 42-32. The Saints also included Duane Newby, Doug Towers, Greg Marchant, Wayne Loiselle, Silvio Corrente, Brent Robinson, Terry Firr, Ron Miles, Ken Geitz, Dan Derenowski, Rick Stewart, Don Browne and Joe Donlon.

       In the East division semis, the St. Lawrence-Kingston Vikings defeated St. Lawrence-Brockville 82-73. In the Final Four semis, held in Sudbury, the George Brown Huskies dusted the Cambrian-Sudbury Colts 69-49. Rick Chase and Herman Shephard each scored 12 to pace the Huskies. Curtis Tillman added 10, Gary McKeigan 7, Randy Wilson 6, Mike Horniblow 6, Roger Bisson 6, Albert Da Silva 4, Don Weber 4 and Vince Sparks 2. Tony Tomini paced the Colts with 13. Bill Whitmell added 11, Bruce Arkilander 10, Brian Kassinen 8, Bob Swain 4, Paul Schaffer 2 and Henry Laszutko 1.

In the other semi, the Mohawk Mountaineers clubbed the Algonquin Thunder 85-65 as Jim Stephenson scored 22, Bob Bricker 18, Mike Sharp 16, Bruce Webb 12, Dan Casuccio 7, Laurie Cahill 4, Chris Wilson 4 and Bruno Snaidero 2. Mountaineers coach Wes Hicks told the Hamilton Spectator that “it was a scary one. With 5:16 to play, we were only up four. But the kids came through. We went to a zone and it paid off.” Brent Martin paced the Thunder with 21. Gerry Foster added 10, Rob Mitchell 10, Larry Trenholm 8, Richard Harper 6, Larry Lanthier 6 and John Sabourin 4.

In the bronze medal match, the Cambrian-Sudbury Colts defeated the Algonquin Thunder 59-49 as Bill Whitmell scored 16, Tony Tomini 14, Bruce Arkilander 11, Brian Kassinen 10, Bob Swain 4 and Paul Schaffer 4. Brent Martin paced the Thunder with 19. John Sabourin added 11, Gerry Foster 8, Rob Mitchell 4, Richard Harper 4 and Larry Lanthier 3. In the final, the George Brown Huskies edged the Mohawk Mountaineers 83-81 as Detroit, Michigan-product Curtis Tillman scored 48, Herman Shepherd 11, Gary McKiegan 11, Albert Da Silva 6, Rick Chase 5 and Gord Skinner 2. Mike Sharp led the Mountaineers with 19. Dan Casuccio added 16, Bruce Webb 15, Bob Bricker 13, Jim Stephenson 12 and Chris Wilson 6. Mountaineers coach Wes Hicks told the Hamilton Spectator that “we couldn’t play any better. We played almost a perfect game. But on the whole, I think I would have to say that they are a better club since they beat us three times this season.”
