        Canada fell twice (55-69 and 61-78) to Brazil. The Brazilians (coached by Renato Brito Cunha) included Nadir Bazani, Elza Pacheco, Angelina Bizarro, Lais Aranha, Neuza Camargo, Nilza Garcia, Norma Oliveira, Jacy Guedes, Rosalia Vasconcelos, Marlene Bento, Delcy Marques and Lucia Borges.

        Canada lost twice to the United States (46-59 and 42-43). The Americans (coached by Alberta Cox, assisted by Olan Ruble) included Carole Aspedon, Cathy Benedetto, Myrna DeBerry, Lois Finley, Betty Gaule, Lola Ham, Ann Matlock, Carolyn Miller, Annette Rutt, Barbara Sipes, Mauriece Smith and Dixie Woodall.

        Canada twice defeated Cuba (70-48 and 78-47). Cuba (coached by Casimiro Garcia) included Ni Luisa Serret, Idanja Camps, Margarita Skeete, Claudina Jova, Mireya Cartaya, Mercedes Gonzalez, Elvira Gonzalez, Paula Gonzalez, Luisa Polledo, Mercedes Li, Gladys Vazquez and Clara Napoles.

In their final game, Canada had to win by seven to earn a bronze Mexico having lost to them earlier by 56-62. With a minute to play, Canada led by one, when Dianne Doyle led a last-minute uprising which brought the partisan crowd to its feet. She left the court to a standing ovation with tears in her eyes as Canada won 51-43 to earn the bronze medal.
