In the quarterfinals, the Capilano Blues defeated the Camosun Chargers 73-45 as Karen Lodge scored 21 and Melissa Chancey 19 and 16 boards. Tina Pulez led Camosun with 9 points. Jen Weirtz added 8. The Chargers (coached by Irene Wallace, assisted by Andrea Hlady) also included Trinity Folland, Jen Loraas-Pletsch, Carla Delisle, Nicole Stobart, Rebekah Beaton, Leanne Montgomery, Kaite Flynn, Taylor Daly, Melissa Seymour, Reiko Sakabe and Janet Collier.
In the other quarterfinal, the Thompson Rivers (Cariboo) Sun Demons defeated the Okanagan Lakers 52-37 as Alison Bekkering scored 14 and Lisa Peterson 10. Peterson added 13 boards. Shannon Walton led Okanagan with 12 points. Rayna Gibbs added 6. The Lakers also included Angie Robson, Amy-Lynn Adams, Kelly Watson, Brianne Hathaway, Megan Faust.
In the semis, the Capilano Blues upset the Langara Falcons 74-67 as Marie Rwigema scored 25 and Melissa Chancey 19. Chancey added 15 boards. Lisa Roberts led Langara with 18 points. Angela Miller added 12 points and 10 boards.
In the other semi, the Fraser Valley Cascades defeated the Thompson Rivers Sun Demons 52-35 as Cassi Born scored 16 and Lindsay Strickland 8. Lauren Alonzo grabbed 10 boards. Kirstine Niemi and Amber Paulson each scored 9 for the Sun Demons. The Sun Demons (coached by Jeff Speedy, assisted by Sukh Heer) also included Krystie Booker, Leena Vedd, Alison Bekkering, Marchena Hembroff, Brenda Shaughnessy, Wendy Hara, Kim Chalmers, Elizabeth Hunter, Lisa Peterson, Jaime Dubyna, Amanda Bjork, Melissa Stevens and Tanya Brasseur.
In the bronze medal match, the Thompson Rivers Sun Demons defeated the Langara Falcons 58-46. The Falcons included Lisa Roberts, Angela Miller, Chrissy Dumas, Aislinn Keegan, Christine Kirk.
In the final, the Fraser Valley Cascades defeated the Capilano Blues 47-43 as Cassi Born scored 17 and Rachael Peters 11. Lauren Alonzo grabbed 7 boards, while Born and Lindsay Strickland each had 4 assists. Cascades coach Sandy Chambers told the Abbotsford News that “after not doing very well last year and not winning the provincials in three years, it was pretty darn exciting. … (Tournament MVP Cassi Born) “is a very special player. She’s a talented player who has found a team she can work with.” Rachel Peters, added Chambers “just takes control. And she’s positive, and a leader out there.” Amanda Beers paced Capilano with 14 points. Melissa Chancey added 10.
