Toronto’s Justine Ellison is awarded the Nan Copp. The 23-year-old 5-10 forward finished second in the country in scoring with a 25.4 ppg. The fifth-year phys ed student led Toronto to OWIAA title and to national tourney final, where they lost to Manitoba in an 81-77 overtime thriller in which she scored 41. She scored 91 points in the Blues three CIS tourney games. Born in Philadelphia, Ellison moved to Toronto when she was two. Father John was a Juno Award nominee in 1994 in the blues/gospel recording category, who wrote ‘Some Kind of Wonderful’. Ellison said she was working to obtain dual citizenship so she can try out for national team.
