Winnipeg’s Beth Cochran is the Nan Copp winner. Wesmen coach Tom Kendall calls her “a reluctant star. She doesn’t seek star status or flaunt what she has, which is considerable. She just seeks, endlessly, to be better. … She is absolutely the most unselfish player you could ever wish to meet. Everything is for the team. She’s always encouraging, always giving credit. Watch her. When she scores, she always turns immediately to point to the player who gave her the ball, recognizing her. And in four years of coaching her, I’ve never heard her complain about a teammate.”

Alberta’s Sherry Melney wins the Ennis.

Joining Cochran as 1st team All-Canadians were: Lori Clarke (Victoria); Carol Hamilton (Laurentian); Pat Melville (Toronto); and Susie Neil (Victoria).

The 2nd team selections were: Lynne Brown (Lakehead); Paula Edwards (U.P.E.I.); Sharon Hamilton (Lethbridge); Bonnie McNaughton (McGill); and Angela Orton (Toronto)
