The league started in 1921 with Dalhousie, Acadia, Halifax, Ladies College and King’s.
Mount Allison joined in 1923.
The champ is awarded the Jean W. Lewis Trophy, which was donated in 1951.
The predecessor to the AUAA, the Maritime Intercollegiate Athletic Association, used women’s rules until `66-67, i.e., two-thirds of the floor rule, six players, three in each of the offensive and defensive zones.
NOTE: Results from the AUA predecessor “intermediate” and “B” divisions are included the Atlantic Colleges Athletic Association section, as those divisions eventually evolved into the ACAA.
