       In the semis, Acadia edged St. Francis Xavier 76-74 as Clive Anderson scored 23 and Eric Janes 15. The X-Men led 39-35 at the half. Wade Smith paced the X-Men with 21. Leo MacPherson added 18. The X-Men (coached by Steve Konchalski, managed by Greg Lamorre and Darren Gerrior, and trained by Bob Manning) also included Augy Jones, Marion Mathis, Otis Delaney, Danny McFarland, Doug MacKinnon, Bruce MacPherson, Monty Gallant, Jeff White, Nelson Spring, James Paulsen and Paul Varenholt.

       In the other semi, the Prince Edward Island Panthers clubbed Dalhousie 104-72 (also reported as 104-89). Peter Gordon paced the Panthers with 36. Mark Roberts added 25 and Curtis Brown 23. The Panthers led 55-38 at the half and the Tigers were never able to rally closer than 10. Andrew Merritt led the Tigers with 21. Gary Blair added 14 and Wilhelm Verbeek 14. The Tigers (coached by Bev Greenlaw) also included Willem Verbeek, Paul Riley, Kevin Hayden, Oscar Martens, Dean Thibodeau, Chris Forbes, Colin Charles, Jim Charters, John Meads, Paul Riley and Wade Brockway.

In the final, regular season champ UPEI routed Acadia 72-56. The Panthers led 37-26 at the half and by as many as 25. Peter Gordon paced the Panthers with 29. Curtis Brown added 19 and Mark Roberts 13. Clive Anderson led the Axemen with 20. Ted Byrne added 15. Axemen coach Dave Nutbrown told Canadian Press that if Gordon “is hitting his shot, there’s nobody in this country that can go nose-to-nose and play him defensively.”
