In the Nova Scotia final, Acadia defeated Nova Scotia Tech 48-19 as Dave Holgate scored 18 and Bernie Ralston 16.
Dalhousie played in a Halifax league and did not enter the intercollegiate competition. The Tigers (coached by W.E. Stiling and Jim McDonald, and managed by Bob Maclellan) included Don Bauld, Mit Musgrave, Ted Crease, Doug Crease, Bill Gladstone, Charlie Anderson, Sam Fairstein, Ernie Richardson, Chuck Lorway and Oscar Serlin.
In the New Brunswick playoffs, the New Brunswick Varsity Reds defeated the Mount Allison Mounties (by 19 in game one; 33-23 in game two.

In the sudden-death Nova Scotia/New Brunswick final, Acadia defeated the New Brunswick Varsity Reds 37-36. Varsity Reds centre Bob Davis missed a free throw with 26 seconds to play that would have knotted the score. Holgate had put the Axemen ahead by four with two minutes to play. Donaldson and Likely answered for the Reds but they couldn’t overcome the margin. Holgate paced Acadia with 16. Bernie Ralston added 9 and MacLeod 9. Sid Thomas led the Varsity Reds with 12. Donaldson added 10. New Brunswick led 20-17 at the half.
