In the semis, the U.Q.A.M. Citadins dusted the Bishop’s Gaiters 60-44. The Gaiters shot their lowest percentage of the year during the upset. Bishop’s took an early 5-2 lead but missed their next six before Amanda Piribauer broke the drought to rally the Gaiters to a 12-12 tie. A three-point play by Mélanie Ouellet-Godcharles put the Gaiters ahead 19-16 early in the second quarter but they then went on a five-minute scoring drought. A layup by Ouellet-Godcharles with 2:13 to go ended the skid, but the Citadins had taken command. Michelle Auger-Bellemare scored six straight points to end the half to give UQAM a 30-21 lead. In the third, a Jessy Roy three-point play was followed up by five points from Piribauer as the Gaiters went on an 8-0 run to pull within three points at 32-29. But UQAM’s Karine Boudrias responded with a three-pointer and the Citadins put the game out of reach with a 13-4 run.
