The University of Quebec at Trois-Rivieres captured the regular season title with a (16-4) record.
In the semis, the Laval Rouge et Or dumped the Concordia Stingers 47-36 as Denise Legace scored 29.
In the other semi, the host U.Q.T.R. Patriots dispatched the McGill Supersquaws 65-63 in overtime. Monica Rogers led the Patriotes with 21. Claudette Leclair added 13. McGill coach Jan Meyer told the McGill Daily that the Supersquaws played “our best game of the season. … We weren’t throwing the ball around as much … (and) much more in control of the game.” The Redmen built a seven-point lead but Monica Rogers, the league’s leading scorer, rallied the Patriots by draining jumpers over the McGill zone. McGill forced overtime with the score knotted at 61 on consecutive buckets by Karen Adams and Linda Dimichelle. Karen Adams paced the Supersquaws with 16. Monica Kerwin added 16, Linda Dimichelle 11 and Judy Stafford 10. McGill outrebounded U.Q.T.R. 49-39 as Cindy Dawe and Linda DiMichele each nabbed 13 and Karen Adams 11.
In the final, Laval stunned U.Q.T.R. 59-41 as Denise Lagace scored 10, Helene Samson 10 and Lise Picard 10. Francoise Aubry led the Patriotes with 16. Monica Rogers added 9.
