       In the quarterfinals, the Western Mustangs clocked the Toronto Varsity Blues 44-35. The Varsity Blues (coached by Sharon Bradley, manager/trainer Janice McKellar) included Terry Knight, Chris Crawford, Leslie Mcintosh, Daina Zukauskas, Karen Edgar, Anne Williams, Trish Beck, Sue Scott, Pat Williams and Martha Williams.

       The Guelph Gryphons pounded the Queen’s Golden Gaels 65-46. The Golden Gaels (coached by Maureen Bouris) included Pat Patterson, Jackie Gallipeau, Karen Carson, Laney Marshall, Pat Quigley, Kathy Keely, Penny Wedd, Jean Crichton, Mary Ann Drinkwater, Eva Stewart, Marg Bartlett and Linda McCormick.

       The Laurentian Voyageurs clipped the Windsor Lancers 43-32. The Lancers (coached by Joan Stevenson) included Mary Pat Searles, Karen Couvillon, Jane Grondin, Bunny Robinson, Karen Lewis, Cindy Dutkiewicz, Pat Thomas, Cathy Valcke, Maureen Markin and Martha Watters.

       In the last quarterfinal, the Ottawa Gee-Gees dispatched the Waterloo Athenas 52-43. The Athenas (coached by Sally Kemp) included Judy Halaiko, Loretta McKenzie, Pat Tatham, Joan Parker, Merry Morris, Becky Duffy, Vicki Szoke, Sherri Bandy-Smith, Mary Ann Kryzyzanowski, Jan Lewis, Joan Parker, Debbie Sitts and Debbie Armstrong.

       In the semis, the Western Mustangs defeated the Ottawa Gee-Gees 63-56.

       In the other semi, the Laurentian Voyageurs defeated the Guelph Gryphons 29-23.

       In the bronze medal match, the Ottawa Gee-Gees dispatched the Guelph Gryphons 41-33. The Gryphons (coached Val Freeman, manager Peigi Murdoch) included Pam Wedd, Anita Baludis, Sue Kaye, Debbie Hay, Cheryl Rowe, Peg Stoddart, Diana Smith, Mary Proc, Gail Fletcher, Mary Uhlig, Bette MacIntosh and Loretta McNally.

       In the postseason final, Western captured its third consecutive crown by dumping Laurentian 47-40 as Beth Johnston scored 14 and sister Rose Johnston 13. Western broke to a 26-4 lead. Kathy Williams paced the Lady Voyageurs with 17.

       For the second consecutive season, the Queen’s Intermediates went undefeated in the intermediate loop, which called itself the OWIAA and also included Ryerson, Toronto Intermediates, Brock and Trent. Games were played at two round-robin tournaments.
