OQWIAA
The old WIBL schools continued to resist amalgamation with younger institutions competing in the Ontario-Quebec Women’s Conference of Intercollegiate Athletics featured 11 teams in two divisions (under the rubric of the “Women’s Intercollegiate Two Conference Association”). The West division included Waterloo, Waterloo Lutheran, Windsor, York, Ryerson and Laurentian. The East division featured Montreal, MacDonald College, Carleton, Sir George Williams and Loyola. Teams played home and home series within their division and then all teams ventured to Ottawa for a postseason tournament. The top two teams in each division were scheduled to compete, in a round-robin format, for the championship, with the remaining seven teams battling for the consolation trophy. But three teams from the East (Macdonald, Montreal and Sir George Williams) were qualified into the championship side, along with three teams from the West (Windsor and Waterloo). The three teams from each division play the three teams from the other division. If there is a tie in the final standings, a playoff game for the title will be held. The remaining five teams were in the consolation draw.
