In the semis, held in London, Toronto defeated host Western 18-11. Beryl Pollock paced the Varsity Blues with 10. Roberta McDonald added 5 and Helen Gurney 3. Irene Gettas led the Mustangs with 7. Bessie Nicholson added 2 and Joyce Chamberlain 2. Vivian O’Neil led the Gaels with 7. Jean Merriam added 4 and Donalda McRae 4.

In the other semi, McGill edged Queen’s 16-15 despite trailing 11-7 at the half. McGill prevailed as Florence Licals (Lincoln?) hit the winning free throw in the final minute. Florence Licals scored the winning bucket for the Martlets and finished with 9. Rose Power added 3, Emily Irving 2, Mona Robinson 2 and S Irving 2, while May Rossiter, R Scofield, Norma Robinson and P Summers were scoreless. The Gaels were in major foul trouble down the stretch. Vivian O’Neil paced the Gaels with 7 J Merrian added 4 and D MacRae 4, while B Webb, E Clark, R Girvin, R Byrne, M Byrne, Pat Lipsett and Kay Dawson were scoreless.

In the bronze medal match, Western thrashed Queen’s 14-5 as Joyce Chamberlain scored 8, Margaret McQueen 4 and Irene Gettas 2. Betty Webb notched 3 for the Gaels. Jean Merriam added 2. The Gaels also included Kay Archibald, Vivian O’Neil, Romola Girvin, Marjorie Schrader, Kay Dawson, playing manager Pat Lipsett, Donalda McRae, Eleanor Clark and Marguerite Byrne.

In the final, Toronto defeated McGill 19-14 to win its first title in five years. “Miss Beatrice Longley is to be congratulated on the success of her first year’s coaching.” Roberta McDonald paced the Varsity Blues with 9. Helen Gurney and Beryl Pollock each added 5, while Janie Church, Patsy McLaren, Jean Lennox and Norah Rean were scoreless. The Blues led 12-10 at the half. Emily Irving let the Martlets with 7. Mona Robinson added 5 and Florence Lincoln 3, while Peggy Tyndale, Norma Robinson, Ruth Schofield, Mary Ellen Rossiter, Rose Power and Pearl Summers were scoreless.
