In the semis, held in Kingston, Western defeated Toronto 12-9. The score was knotted at 5 at the half. Mary Wong led the Mustangs with 5. Creena Wallace added 5 and Dot Rintoul 2. Mary Louise Carre paced the Varsity Blues with 4. Edith Ardagh added 3 and Katherine Brown 2.

In the other semi, Queen’s thrashed McGill 40-19 after leading 16-14 at the half. Ruth Fishleigh and Evelyn Rickard each scored 12 to pace the Gaels. Fay Kimmins added 8, Catherine Boyd 4 and Georgina Ross 4. Edith Walbridge paced the Martlets with 9. Cynthia Bazin added 8 and Betty Murphy 2.

       In the bronze medal match, Toronto defeated McGill 25-18. Toronto led 19-10 at the half and romped. Kathleen Brown led the Varsity Blues with 12. Edith Ardagh added 2, Mary Louise Carre 4, Eugenia May 4, Lorna Reid 2 and Enid Palmer 2. Cynthia Bazin and Elizabeth Millar each scored 6 for McGill. Edith Wallbridge added 4 and Eleanor Montgomery 3. The Martlets (coached by Zerada Slack) also included Betty Murphy, Helen Fyfe, Ruth Russell, Elnora Adams, Helen McInnis and Eileen Crutchlow.

       In the final, Queen’s won its first title by defeating Western 23-14 after leading 7-6 at the half. The game was tight for most of the first half, after which Catherine Boyd and Georgina Ross took command for the Tricolor. Kay Wayling, Bud Ardell and Gladys Heintz did an stellar job of containing Mustang star Mary Wong, typically double-team her on the perimeter. Boyd finished with 11. Georgina Ross added 6 and Ruth Fishleigh 6. Mary Wong notched 6 for Western. Creena Wallace added 6 and Dot Rintoul 2.
