In the semis, Western defeated McGill 23-13. Centre Mary Wong dominated for the Mustangs scoring 21 points, including all 10 of Western’s points in the first half. Ethel Croft added 2. Florence Jones paced McGill with 5. Eileen Crutchlow notched 5, Ruby Smith 2 and Cynthia Bazin 2.
In the other semi, Toronto edged Queen’s 20-17. Evelyn Rickard paced Queen’s with 7. Fay Kimmins added 5 and Ruth Fishleigh 4. Kay Brown led Toronto with 12. Beatrice Longley added 4, Mary Louise Carre 2, Grace Becker 2 and Grace McClintock 2.
In the bronze medal match, Queen’s defeated McGill 22-17. Queen’s led 12-10 at the half. Nora McGinnis paced the Presbyterians with 10. Evelyn Rickard added 8 and Fay Kimmins 4. Florence Jones paced McGill with 8. Cynthia Bazin added 4, Elizabeth Millar 4 and Janet Clouston 2. The Martlets (coached by Zerada Slack) also included Ruby Smith, Janet Dobson, Helen Fyfe, Velma Goulding and Eileen Crutchlow.
In the final, Toronto defeated Western 20-17 as captain Beatrice Longley scored 10. The Blues experience and speed proved too much for the Mustangs and forward Alice Butler contained high scoring Mustang star Mary Wong to seven points. Kay Brown added 6 for the Varsity Blues, while Mary Louise Carre scored 4, Beatrice Longley 2, Grace Becker 2 and Grace McClintock 2. The Blues led 16-9 at the half. Ethel Croft added 6 for Western, while Cae Hargan notched 3.
