In the semis, held in Kingston, Toronto dumped Queen’s 41-13 as Eleanor Sedgewick scored 18, Louise Crouch 10, Sally Ballard 10 and Wilma Hazlett 2. Jean Dunlop led the Gaels with 6. Norah McGinnis added 4, Hilda Rice 2 and Jean Taylor 1.

In the other semi, Western thrashed McGill 36-18 as Mary Wong scored 24 and dominated the paint.

In the bronze medal match, McGill pounded Queen’s 54-31 after leading 38-10 at the half. Louise Smart led McGill with 31. Janet Dobson added 16, Jean Campbell 3 and Cynthia Bazin 2. Norah McGinnis led the Gaels with 11. Hilda Rice added 9, Jean Dunlop 8, Jean Taylor 2 and Peggy Huston 1. The Gaels (coached by Emily Murphy, and managed by Doreen Kenny) also included Gladys Munnings, Margaret Brown, Ilse Schroeder, Sally Farlinger, Jean Jenkinson, Helen Kennedy, Eileen Hancock and Isa Galbraith.

In the final, Toronto defeated Western 30-16 as Wilma Hazett scored 12, Louise Crouch 8 and Eleanor Sedgewick 8. The Varsity Blues led 12-11 at the half but took command in the second as caught fire. Jesse Walker led Western with 7. Mary Wong added 5 and Helen McCormick 4.
