Windsor won the SIBL title with a (10-2) record. The Lancers were led by Detroit natives Marty Kwiatkowski and Bob Horvath. They experienced unrest when Bernie Friesmuth quit the team in mid-February, angered because he wasn’t receiving enough playing time and had poor grades to boot. Season highlights included a McGill-Toronto game in which 6 McGill players fouled out leaving only two on the floor for the last few minutes of the contest.

Sharpe was at the helm of the McGill Jayvee Indians for six years, during which they won two Ottawa-St. Lawrence titles.

On March 26, 1965, Montreal, Laval and Guelph join the league and OQAA representatives formally vote to split the league in two divisions. The western division will feature McMaster, Western, Windsor, Toronto, Waterloo and Guelph in a 10-game round robin regular season, while the eastern division will see McGill, Queen’s Laval and Montreal in a six-game schedule. The representatives vote that the top three western finishers and the top eastern team will make the Wilson Cup playoffs.
