       Western and Toronto finished tied at (4-2) atop the league standings, with McGill third and Queen’s bringing up the rear. Toronto looked hapless early against American competition. According to The Varsity, “the great transformation came with their first joust in Intercollegiate competition, in the form of a smashing victory over a highly amazed Western team. From the sadly confused group which they had been earlier in the season, the University of Toronto quintet became the surprise team of the league, whose smooth passing, scoring punch and general teamwork garnered praise from all quarters.”
